Wild Sightings, Egg-cellent Easter and Rugby Spirit: April in Full Swing
There’s a distinct shift in the air over Nambiti Private Game Reserve, KZN — that familiar crispness hinting at the season ahead. While autumn slowly settles in, April brought with it a generous 133mm of rainfall, which again caused the Sunday’s river to flood. The Easter Bunny made a cheerful appearance at the lodge, delighting guests of all ages, and as always, the wildlife did not disappoint. From unforgettable sightings to a heartwarming community rugby day, April has been a month full of vibrant moments both on and off the game drive vehicle.
Wildlife Sightings
We had unforgettable sightings this last month. Including multiple lion and cheetah kills — offering guests an authentic safari experience. There were also a few rare python sightings. Elephant sightings have been consistent across the reserve, adding to the magic of each game drive.

Easter at the Lodge
The Easter Bunny certainly didn’t forget our guests! The lodge came alive with sweet surprises — from chocolate eggs tucked into breakfast spreads to warthogs welcoming guests back from game drive with Easter treats. A highlight for the little ones (and a few grown-ups!) was the Easter egg hunt in the garden, adding a touch of festive fun to a wild weekend in the bush.
Community Spirit
This month, we proudly partnered once again with Wild Connection for a local rugby clinic hosted at a nearby school — this time led by none other than U21 Sharks Captain, Thomas Dryer. It was an inspiring day of sport and mentorship, and we were grateful to play a small role by providing lunch supplies to help fuel the players and the day’s activities.
April arrived with crisp autumn air, incredible wildlife sightings across Nambiti Private Game Reserve in KZN, and uplifting moments of community connection. From big cats to Easter festivities and supporting local schools, it’s truly been a month to remember.
