Our safari tents in KZN are at the heart of the Springbok Lodge experience.
With 21 tents to choose from, including standard two-sleeper tents and spacious family tents, there’s an option to suit whether you’re travelling as a couple, with friends or with the family.

First things first: What makes The Springbok Lodge different?
The Springbok Lodge is a community-owned safari lodge, with safari tents in KZN. Situated on the Nambiti Private Game Reserve.
The lodge has 21 safari tents, accommodating up to 60 guests:
- 12 standard two-sleeper tents
- 9 family four-sleeper tents
The camp is fenced, making it a particularly appealing option for families, while guests still get that wonderful feeling of being surrounded by the bush.
And, of course, your tent is only part of the experience. Your stay also includes meals, two daily game drives and those little safari moments that tend to become the stories you tell long after you’ve gone home.
Safari tents for couples
Travelling as a couple?
The standard two-sleeper tents are a great fit if it’s just the two of you.
They’re designed for two guests and give you your own comfortable ‘home’ while staying with us at The Springbok Lodge.
**Please note: Some tents have been upgraded to brick and canvas, while others retain their traditional safari style. All tents will be upgraded over the coming years.

Travelling with the family?
The Springbok Lodge has nine family four-sleeper tents, making them a practical option for families travelling together.
Family safari holidays can involve a lot of logistics — particularly when you’re trying to keep everyone happy, comfortable and organised.
Having accommodation designed for four guests means you can spend less time worrying about who is sleeping where and more time wondering whether today’s game drive will bring another elephant sighting.
And there is plenty for children to enjoy at Springbok beyond the game drives.
The lodge has a kiddies’ pool, games and family-friendly spaces, while children from the age of one can join the game drives.
That means a safari doesn’t have to wait until the kids are teenagers.
**Please note: Some tents have been upgraded to brick and canvas, while others retain their traditional safari style. All tents will be upgraded over the coming years.

But which tent should you choose?
Here’s the simple version:
Travelling as two adults?
Choose a standard two-sleeper tent.
Travelling as a family of three or four?
A family four-sleeper tent is the natural choice.
Travelling with grandparents or another family?
Speak to the reservations team about the best combination of tents for your group.
And if accessibility is important, Tents 6 and 7 are the accessible options. Tent 7 also has both an indoor and outdoor shower

It’s not just about the tent
One thing worth remembering when choosing The Springbok Lodge and our safari tents in KZN is that your accommodation is only one part of the safari experience.
At Springbok, you’ll start your mornings with a game drive, head out again in the afternoon, stop for coffee and Amarula in the bush, enjoy sundowners as the day winds down and return to the lodge for a meal.
A safari lodge for families, couples and everyone in between
One of the advantages of Springbok is that you don’t have to choose between a family-friendly lodge and an authentic safari experience.
You can have both.
Couples can enjoy their own comfortable two-sleeper tent and spend their days exploring the reserve.
Families can choose a four-sleeper tent and introduce their children to the bush from an early age.
And because Springbok is community-owned, your stay also contributes to something bigger than your own holiday. The lodge supports community initiatives and conservation-related projects, helping tourism create opportunities beyond the lodge itself.
So when you’re looking at safari tents KZN, don’t just compare the size of the room or the number of stars.
Look at the experience.
Look at who owns the lodge.
Look at what your stay supports.
And think about what you want your family or partner to remember when the safari is over.
**Please note: Some tents have been upgraded to brick and canvas, while others retain their traditional safari style. All tents will be upgraded over the coming years.
