At The Springbok Lodge, we believe a safari is more than just spotting wildlife; it’s about slowing down, connecting with nature, and embracing the rhythm of the African bush.
Here’s what you can expect during your time out on safari with us.
Early Morning Magic
Your day begins early morning (summer times at 5am and winter 6.30), when the bush is at its most alive. Guests are welcome to join us at the lodge ahead of departure time to enjoy a warm cup of tea or coffee — a gentle start before heading out into the crisp morning air.
As the morning takes form across the Nambiti landscape, you’ll set off on your morning game drive — one of the best times to encounter wildlife as the reserve begins to stir.
Midway through the drive, your guide will find a scenic spot to pause. Think fresh coffee in hand, the sounds of nature all around you — and, for those who feel like a little indulgence, a touch of Amarula stirred into your coffee. It’s a moment to simply take it all in, unhurried and unforgettable.
After the 3-3.5 hour drive you will arrive back at the lodge for breakfast.
Afternoon into Evening
After spending time relaxing at the lodge (maybe enjoying a spa treatment) and enjoying lunch you will head out on the afternoon safari (Summer 4.30pm and Winter 3pm but season depends) offers a completely different atmosphere. As the heat of the day softens, animals become more active once again, and the golden light creates the perfect backdrop for sightings and photography.
Of course, no afternoon drive is complete without a sundowner stop. As the sun dips below the horizon, you’ll enjoy a drink and an assortment of nibbles in the bush — whether it’s a classic G&T, a refreshing beer or simply a sip of water.
Your Comfort = Our Highest Priority
While safari is an outdoor adventure, your comfort is always part of the experience. Our open game viewers are equipped with fleece-lined ponchos to keep you warm on chilly mornings or during unexpected weather. In the cooler winter months, hot water bottles are also provided — a small but much-appreciated touch that makes all the difference.

Every safari at Springbok Lodge is led by professionally qualified guides who bring the bush to life through their knowledge, experience, and passion. From tracking animals to sharing insights about ecosystems, birdlife, and smaller details you might otherwise miss, they ensure that every drive is as enriching as it is exciting.

What Not to Forget
A little preparation goes a long way in making your safari even more enjoyable. We recommend bringing a fully charged phone or camera — and a power bank if you have one, as there are no charging points on the game drive vehicles.
Don’t forget to bring along a reusable water bottle (these can easily be refilled at the lodge — simply ask our friendly team behind the bar for assistance), as well as essentials like a hat and sunblock to protect you during the day.
If you have a pair of binoculars, they’re always a great addition for spotting wildlife from a distance. That said, our guides do usually carry their own personal pair and always happy to share.
