Spring has taken over the reserve, transforming the landscape into a vibrant sea of colour and life. September was an exciting month filled with incredible sightings, Heritage Month celebrations, and a touch of reflection. It’s hard to believe that, at the end of September last year, the reserve was blanketed in snow!
From blossoming bushveld to buzzing birdlife, The Springbok Lodge has once again come alive. The changing season has filled the air with energy, capturing the true spirit of the bush. In addition, our dedicated guides were busy outside of their game drives, helping to repair and maintain the lodge access road. As a result, guests can now enjoy an even smoother arrival experience.

Wildlife Sightings
Sightings this month have been nothing short of amazing! The cheetah brothers have been seen marking their territories, while lions have been on the move across the reserve. Meanwhile, the elephants spent much of the month enjoying the northern areas near the central region. Even so, guests still enjoyed plenty of beautiful encounters throughout the reserve.
To top it all off, the sunsets have been truly magical. Each evening painted the sky in gold and crimson hues, offering guests unforgettable views and the perfect end to a day in the bush.

Lodge Update
September was filled with energy both on and off the reserve. Naturally, the Springbok Games were on around game drives, bringing a lively atmosphere to the lodge as guests gathered to cheer on their teams. In addition, we celebrated Heritage Day in true South African style. Each guest was treated to a delicious koeksister with breakfast — a sweet taste of tradition to mark the occasion and share a little piece of our heritage.
To make the month even more memorable, we also witnessed a beautiful proposal at the lodge — a truly heartwarming moment surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
